Spreadsheets

The lair census initially started as a personal project; I was curious how many of my dragons were unnamed, what genes I used most often in my lair, and I liked the idea of visually seeing all of my dragons colours in one place. As I built it and added my own lair info to it, I thought other people might be interested in seeing the same info for their own lair. Since sharing it, I’ve been able to learn more working with Sheets in troubleshooting for other users, incorporating their suggested ideas, as well as eventually being prompted to make my next project…

After using the lair census, a user came to me with the idea to make a “gene project calculator” that could help them see how much it would cost to add genes to their dragons. I was immediately intrigued by the idea because I was morbidly curious about how expensive it would be to fund my own disturbing amount of projects… so I got right to work on it! I had a lot of difficulty with it at first because I wanted it to be clean and straightforward. I wanted to be able to input all of the genes needed for a dragon, the calculator would add up all of the costs behind the scenes, and it would spit out the total without the clutter of listing every gene’s price individually. It required a lot of studying formulae I had never used before, but I’m very pleased with the results!

Baking

Another hobby of mine is baking, everything from cheesecakes to pastries to macarons. I love exploring out of my comfort zone when making treats, and am always looking to try new recipes, techniques, flavours, and anything else that piques my interest (or just sounds delicious). Some of my most complex and detailed works have been inspired by my gaming interests; they wind up being the projects I’m most proud of, so I wanted to show them off here, as well! ♥
